Fall Fishing in New Jersey: The Striped Bass and Blackfish Are Biting!
As the air cools and the crowds fade, November marks one of the most exciting times of year to fish in New Jersey. The fall migration brings huge striped bass schools close to shore, while blackfish and sea bass pile up around wrecks and reefs — and the Canyon Eagle is right in the middle of the action.
The Fall Run is On
Every November, striped bass migrate south along the Jersey Coast chasing bunker and sand eels. This creates some of the best fishing of the year — with fish ranging from schoolies to trophy-size bass over 40 pounds. Whether you’re joining us from Belmar or Perth Amboy, our captains track the schools daily to put you right on the bite.
Blackfish and Sea Bass Season
While the bass are running, bottom fishing is also in full swing. Tautog (blackfish) season peaks this month — known for their powerful fights and tasty fillets. Our boats hit productive wrecks where anglers regularly limit out. Sea bass trips are also running strong, making it a great time to fill the cooler before winter.
